After an enthralling win in the tournament opener against a top class side Tshwane Spartans, the high on confidence Cape Town Blitz will next face the Durban Heat led by the experienced hard-hitting all-rounder Albie Morkel.

In their opening game, Cape Town Blitz were all over their opponents and agonizingly tamed them by 49 runs. Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz’s ferocious 59 off 37 and wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne’s unbeaten 53 helped them post a formidable 180 for the loss of 4 wickets.
Their bowling was outstanding as they kept Tshwane batsmen at bay and didn’t let them score freely. Even though, Tshwane’s skipper ‘Mr.360’ AB de Villiers who played a competitive game since announcing his retirement from International cricket in June, got a breezing 50 to his name but it wasn’t enough for his side to cross the line. Ferisco Adams snared 3 wickets for 28 runs while all the other bowlers got one apiece.
Durban Heat
This would be the opening game for Durban Heat and facing a formidable unit of Cape Town Blitz will definitely be an uphill task for them. They possess a core strength in their batting line-up with the likes of Morne Van Wyk, David Miller, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma and with Albie Morkel at the helm they do have match-winners in their side.
